Breakfast at Tiffany's...sort of.

...but can't afford it every day of your life? I found the closest thing to it! A gorgeous hue of nail polish that's the exact shade of its world-famous jewelry boxes...and happens to be all the rage this summer. Chanel's Nouvelle Vague lacquer was sold out mere days after hitting shelves, and is now being sold on eBay for hundreds of dollars. I've been wearing it all summer, and for those of you who haven't embraced the trend yet, I found a close second: Essie's Turquoise and Caicos (and it's only $8!)

Jewel's Poem of the Week

Le long des rues, des briques et des miroirs,

Les gens évitent leurs reflets et longent leurs ombres noires.

Les talons cliquetant sur les paves, les costumes bien souilles,

Ils fuyent l’eternel poids de leur amère légèreté.

Ils marchent vite, ils se bousculent, dans le chaos,

Ils prennent part au ballet du chacun pour sa peau.

Pourtant derrière leurs costumes et leurs sombres masques,

Le vrai remonte à la surface et le maquillage s’efface.

Il coule dans les égouts, se perd dans les sous-sols,

Et ces petites marionnettes redeviennent tant de femmes que d’hommes.

Ils trainent derrière eux des vices, des regrets, des remords et des soupçons,

Ils portent sur leurs dos creux le poids d’un passé ou d’un souvenir profond,

Mais ils sont vrais, nus, authentiques et humains.

Le soleil peut nous aveugler, des l’aube, je partirai, des le matin,

Pourtant, on le sait, ces prédateurs sont bestiaux.

La terre est ronde, et la terre se morfonde car le monde n’est pas beau.

Le soleil caresse les volets, les cheminées et les persiennes,

Mais il ne réchauffe pas ces cœurs pleins de peur et de haine.

Il poignarde nos froideurs de ses brulures.

Et aujourd’hui, il n’y a pas assez de médecins pour tous ces points de suture.
